We’re thrilled to announce Talk to the Press’ first book is now on sale. Written by director Natasha Courtenay-Smith, the book is called ‘I had one twin, Mum had the other’: a guide to success in real life journalism.’
Named after one of Talk to the Press’ most memorable stories, the book is aimed at journalism students and graduates, as well as those who are either thinking about going freelance or wanting to give their freelance career a boost.
Natasha says: ‘My aim with this book is to help aspiring journalists understand every angle of real life journalism, from finding a story to selling and reselling it. By choosing real life journalism as a genre, you’re not narrowing your focus, you’re widening it. Your topic is human experience, a component of 90 per cent of all journalism. This opens the door to a fantastic wealth of material and brilliant earning potential. Every year, newspapers and magazines spend millions of pounds on true life stories. If you can come up with the stories, there’s no reason that you shouldn’t have a slice of that cake and enjoy what is a fulfilling and rewarding career.’
The book is available from www.journalist-training.co.uk.
